Hello Everybody. hope your all enjoying the summer! It’s all about Dad this week as the children celebrate father’s day so dads be prepared to be spoilt!
In the baby room Suzanne and Kathlyn will sit with the babies and give them their family photos and point out Dad in the photos, describing him, saying da da da sounds and sing the song 'I love you'. The girls will read stories on fathers and grandfathers and do sensory play using flour and the girls will encourage the babies to pretend to make dinner for dad. The girls will make lots of nice fathers' days surprises for dad but we couldn’t possibly tell you what they are and ruin the surprise!
In the toddler room Bernie and Laura will chat about Dad and Granddad with the children in circle time, asking them to describe them and encourage them to talk about them with the help of their family photos. The girls will read stories like my Grandpa is amazing and Dads birthday surprise and ask the children questions on it. For arts and crafts they will make nice pictures and cards which I’m sure dad will love!
Upstairs in the ECCE room and preschool rooms Shell, Mary Ann and Lisa will discuss Dad in circle time. The girls will ask them to describe dad, ask them what they love about their dad and ask them what their favourite thing to do with dad is. The girls will talk about how not everybody has a Dad but doesn’t mean that child is less loved and some boys and girls have a grandad that minds them or a bigger brother that they also love and do fun things with. The girls will ask the children to draw dad and draw a picture of what they love to do with Dad and for arts and crafts they will make surprises for their Daddies. Remember Father’s day is June 19th!
