Hi Everyone, hope our lovely mothers got spoiled on Sunday!
Here is what we are doing this week in Ardenza.
In the Baby room Suzanne and Geraldine are teaching the babies the nursery rhyme 'Round and round the garden'. The girls will sit with the babies in circle time and say the rhyme doing the actions on the babies hands. They will repeat this and encourage the babies to do it back . They will also stand up with the babies and do big actions by moving, twirling and holding hands while listening to the rhyme. They will do this every day so that the babies start the recognise the sounds, actions and words. The babies will get to colour round the garden colouring pictures and the girls will look through story books with gardens in it and point out things in the garden. If the weather is nice Suzanne and Geraldine will take the babies outside and do it out in the garden. The babies will also do their usual puzzles and sensory activities.
In the Toddler room Bernie and Shell are doing tractors and trains with the children. This is a favourite theme in the toddler room as the girls and boys love the train and tractor box! In circle time the girls will look through pictures with the children and ask them questions on them pointing out their colours and shapes and the noises they make. They will read stories like 'Thomas the tank' and ask questions on it. the children will do role play using the trains and tractors and the girls will ask them questions while they play and encourage them to use their imagination. Shell will also set the chairs up to make it like a train and the children do role play pretending to be on and drive the train. There is lots of toddlers who have relations with farms so the girls will ask them questions about the tractors on the farm. Lots of colouring will be done too.
Upstairs the ECCE room and preschool rooms are doing parts of the body.
In circle time Mary Ann, Sarah and Lisa will discuss the parts of our body, point them out and chat about what their used for. They will do tumble tots which is filled with body part action songs and they will read stories on parts of the body. The children will do role play dressing up as doctors and nurses and the girls will encourage them to help fix ‘patients’ up. The preschool rooms have big white sheets of paper so the girls will lie children down and trace them and ask children to colour in parts. It will be great fun!
Have a great week!
