Hello Everybody! Here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza!
In the baby room Suzanne and Geraldine are doing parts of the body with the babies. In circle time the girls will sit with the babies and point out babies eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hands and legs and name them. They will ask the older babies to find their body parts and sing 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' doing the actions. For the younger babies the girls will give them baby massages on the mat, chatting away to them about their body. They will sit and stand in front of the mirror and look at themselves and for arts and crafts the babies will get to do some body painting using their hands and feet to make a big painting!
In the toddler room Bernie and Laura are doing pets with the children. In circle time the girls will talk to the children about caring for a pet and ask them if they have any pets. Bernie will tell the children about her dog Toby, showing them pictures and telling them how she cares for him. The girls will also talk about pet safety and approaching animals with caution. There will be pet stories read and animal songs sang and Laura will provide pet colouring pages and arts and crafts. They will also do role play using animal teddies and toys.
Upstairs the ECCE room and preschool room are doing me and my family.
In circle time Shell, Mary Ann and Lisa will discuss what family means and ask the children to describe their family. The girls will describe their family and talk to the children what they like to do with their family. Each day the girls will discuss the different family members and ask the children to talk about them. They will use the family photos to help the children talk about them and discuss fun things we can do with our family. The girls will read stories on families and chat about how sometimes we fight with our families but always love them. They will draw pictures of how what they like to do with their families and make frames for their family photos so if you haven’t sent in a family photo please do if possible!
