Hello Everybody here is what your little smallies are up to this week in Ardenza!
In the baby room Suzanne and Kathlyn are doing The 3 Little Pigs' with the babies. In circle time the girls will sit with the babies with 'The 3 Little Pigs' storybooks and read them the story, pointing out things like the pigs, asking them what noise pigs make and pointing out the wolf. They will exaggerate huffing and puffing and use finger puppets to tell the story. The girls will play with babies toes and do this little piggy and read stories on pigs and farms. The babies will paint a big group picture of 'The 3 Little Pigs' while listening to 'The 3 Little Pigs' story.
In the toddler room Bernie and Laura are doing shapes with the toddlers. In circle time the girls will look through shape books and flashcards and name them out for the children. They will do a different shape each day doing activities like find the shape and colouring that shape. The girls will blend it into activities throughout the day like tea set time asking them the shapes of the plates and so on.
Upstairs the preschool rooms are doing transport.
In circle time Shell, Mary Ann and Lisa will discuss with the children the different types of transport and ask them about how they get about the place. The girls will chat to them about aeroplanes and ask them if they have experience on them and what they were like. Each day the girls will focus on a different mode of transport and do role play pretending to be on them using the chairs, dress up clothes and imagination! there will be lots of colouring and activity sheets on transport and watching out the window and observing the passing traffic.
