Hello Everybody here is what your little ones will be up to this week in Ardenza!

In the Baby room Suzanne and Kathlyn are continuing on with sensory play as they do water play. The girls will fill a tub with luke warm water and make it sudsy and put water toys and poring equipment into it. The girls will sit with the babies and show them how to pour and splash and encourage them to put their hands in. For the smaller babies the girls will have them on their laps and dip their toes in and pour water on their legs and hands. The girls will chat loads to the babies and encourage them to chat. Each day the girls will put different things into the water like paint, glitter and flour so that babies can explore a wide range of colours and textures.

In the toddler room Bernie and Laura are teaching the children all about picnics. In circle time the girls will chat about what a picnic is and how we sit with family and friends and share food for a picnic. Bernie will read stories on picnics and Laura will do role play with the children using blankets, the tea set and plastic food and encourage the children to pretend their having a picnic. She will chat to them and ask them questions on what they’re doing and what their eating to encourage them to use their imagination.  They will also be encouraged to share and wait their turn. The children will also get to colour picnic activity sheets.

Upstairs the preschool rooms are learning about healthy teeth.

In circle time Shell, Mary Ann and Lisa will talk to the children about how important it is to mind our teeth. They will ask the children about brushing our teeth, when we do it and how we do it. The girls will do role play pretending to brush the teeth and sing action songs about brushing the teeth. The girls will also chat to the children about eating sweets and chocolate and how our teeth don’t like them! There will be lots of teeth activity sheets to colour and trace and the girls will ask that each child bring in their tooth brush to practice.
