Hello Everybody. Here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza!
In the Baby room Suzanne and Kathlyn are doing sounds with the babies. In circle time the girls will sit with the babies with musical toys and books and listen to different sounds. The girls will test out babies hearing by going to different parts of the room and making a different sound to see if the babies will follow it. The girls will use all sorts of items to make different sounds and encourage the babies to make their own using different toys. The babies will also get to use musical instruments with the girls showing them how to use them. The babies will also get to hear nice soft sounds with mediation music as they cuddle teddies and get cosy on the blanket.
In the Toddler room Bernie and Laura are doing the weather with the children which is pretty appropriate for the way it is at the moment! Weather can be confusing in Ireland so the girls will chat to the children about how summer time doesn’t mean Mr Sun is out all the time so some days we have to wear coats and other days wear shorts! The girls will chat about how we must put sun cream and a hat on when Mr Sun is out and drinks lots of water. The girls will focus on the weather in summer but also chat about the rain. Laura will provide weather colouring pages and the toddlers will get to make Mr Sun paper plates to brighten up the toddler room.
Upstairs the pre-schoolers are doing a second week of the beach seeing as the weather was so nice and so many children were at the beach. In circle time Shell, Mary Ann and Lisa will ask the children about their trips to the beach and each child will get to talk about their own experience. The girls will ask questions and encourage them to open up and the girls will give their own stories of the beach. The children will look at pictures of things you might find at the beach and be encouraged to draw and paint pictures of the beach. The children will also get to do sand play using the sand pit.
