Hello everybody here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza.

In the baby room Suzanne and Kathlyn are doing farm animal with the babies. in circle time the girls will show the babies farm animal flashcards making the sounds of the animal, read stories on the farm and sing songs like old macdonald had a farm. The girls will do role play acting like the animals and ask the babies about their sounds and the babies will get to try and figure out some farm animal puzzles. There will be loads of farm animal arts and crafts done too like horsey handprints and paper plate pigs.

In the toddler room Bernie and Laura are testing out who will play for cork as they do ball play with the toddlers! The girls will bring in balls of all different sizes so that the children can learn to throw catch and kick. They will play games sitting on the floor where they have to pass the ball around to each other and they will use the small balls to throw into boxes and toys. Ball play is great for helping children expand their fine and gross motor skills so outside the girls will encourage them to kick as hard as they can and run and catch the ball. The children will also get to colour ball activity sheets.

Upstairs the preschool rooms are preparing for change as children are moved into new rooms and new children start Ardenza.

Shell, Mary Ann and Lisa will help the children who were in the toddler room settle in by showing them the room, new toys, their table and chair and helping them form new friendships with others by forming a common ground with toys and activities. Most of the children knew each other as they all mix together in the morning and outside so it’s not a huge change and most of them are going into a new room with their buddy so it’s an exciting time for them. And Bernie and Laura will call up and see them to make sure they are settling ok. Its Bernie and Laura who will be lost! Lots of getting to know each other upstairs this week! Keep an eye on their daily sheets to read what they have been up to!

Have a great week!
