Hello everyone! This is what your littles ones are up to this week in Ardenza!

In the baby room Suzanne and Laura are continuing on with senses and this week focusing on hearing. In circle time the girls will use musical instruments and toys to test out babies hearing and introduce them to lots of different sounds. They will give the babies little challenges where one of the girls will go to the other side of the room and make a sound and see if babies will follow it. |The girls will put on different types of sounds and music like dancing music and move and dance with the babies to soft and gentle sounds and music where the girls will turn down the lights and let the babies play with blankets, soft toys and teddies to convey softness and calmness. The girls will put on lyric fm while the babies are doing activities to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere. There will also be lots of homemade rattles and drums made too so the babies can make as much noise as possible.

In the toddler room Bernie and Mary Ann are doing counting with the children. In circle time the girls will look through counting and number books and encourage the children to count with them. They will do counting activities using blocks and toys and incorporate the children themselves into counting. They will play counting games and ask each child to count items in the room. There will be number puzzles and jigsaws done and for arts and crafts the children will get to colour counting activity sheets and numbers.

Upstairs the ECCE rooms and Preschool room are doing healthy eating.

In circle time the girls will chat to children about what healthy foods there are and focus especially on fruit and vegetables. The girls will show the children pictures of them and ask them what they are emphasising their colours. The girls will chat to the children about how they make our hearts, skin, hair and teeth happy and they make us grow big and strong. The girls will talk about their favourite fruit and vegetables and if eating in front of the children will eat fruit and talk about how yummy it is. During snack times and dinner, the girls will ask the children about what their eating and give praise and encouragement for eating well. The girls will make colourful plates of lovely fruit and ask the children to try some. The girls will encourage role play in the home corner giving them ideas of cooking dinners and the children will use the wooden fruit and veg pieces to pretend to be chopping them up. The children will get to colour healthy food pictures and make rainbow plates. If you would like your little one to try some new fruit or veg send it in the lunchbox and the girls will try their best!
