Hello everyone here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza.

In the baby room Suzanne and Laura are continuing on with senses and doing sight this week. In circle time the girls will play peek a boo, hideys and hide blocks and toys from the babies to see if they follow where they go. The girls will have lots of bright coloured toys and items and name out the colours for the babies. The babies will do lots of sensory activities like water play and rainbow pasta so that its visually stimulating and to see different lights the girls will turn off the lights, have the cosy blanket out and give babies light up toys and books. The babies will also learn about where their eyes are too.

In the toddler room Bernie and Mary Ann are doing counting with the children. in circle time the children will look through number books and Bernie will count with them. She will encourage each child to try and count and give them praise for when they do. They will play counting games like hop scotch and counting blocks and do number puzzles. There will be lots of counting items and people in the room and songs like one two buckle my shoe, 5 little monkeys and 5 little fingers will be sung. The children will also get to colour number activity sheets.

Upstairs the ECCE rooms and preschool rooms are doing exercise.

In circle time the girls will chat to the children about how important exercise is and it makes our heart happy, and our bones nice and strong. The girls will list out ways we exercise like running, walking, hopping, climbing and playing games, mostly what the children do outside. The girls will ask the children their favourite exercise and will name out what they do for exercise. If the weather is bad and they can’t do exercise outside the girls will so tumble tots, animal stretches, dancing and Simon says inside so the crèche will be hopping. The children will get to make hearts art and crafts and colour exercise activity sheets.
