Hello everybody hope you had a lovely bank holiday! Here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza.
In the baby room Suzanne and Rachel are teaching the babies about the letter A so in circle time the girls will be making A sounds and looking at toys and objects beginning with A. The girls will pronounce objects beginning with A and snacks like apples and apricots. The girls will let the babies paint the letter A and look at alphabet books. The babies will also do sensory play and play with toys that interest them.
In the toddler room Bernie and Mary Ann are doing the gingerbread man with the children. in circle time Bernie will read the story to the children and encourage them to repeat the sayings. A lot of the older toddlers know it already from story time and Bernie likes to add her own bits to the story to make it entertaining. The kids will do role play acting like the cow, fox and old maid and have great fun imagining they are the gingerbread men. Mary Ann will provide colouring pages for the toddlers to scribble on and the children will do gingerbread men puzzles.
In the ECCE rooms and preschool room, the kids are learning about winter.
In circle time Laura, Lisa and Lydia will discuss with the children the change in weather, the heavier clothes we wear, the changes in nature and how the animals go to sleep. Each day the girls will do a different topic and do activities on that topic. For example, for the winter clothes the girls will mix up summer clothes and winter clothes and ask the children to pick the winter clothes out and out them on. There will be lots of arts and crafts done from leaf tracing to cotton wool snowballs. The children will also go outside to look at the changes in nature like different colour leaves, no more flowers and bare trees. Lots of learning this week!
Keep an eye on their daily sheets to see what they are up to!
