Hello everyone! Here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza.

In the baby room Suzanne and Rachel are teaching the babies about twinkle twinkle. In circle time the girls will sing the rhyme and do the actions, encouraging the babies to move their hands and arms. They will look at pictures of stars and listen to the song on the radio through out the day. for a bit of quiet time the girls will turn off the lights, have cosy blankets and listen to the song. For arts and crafts the babies will get to paint a star using a paintbrush and their fingers and play with glitter too.

In the toddler room Bernie and Mary ann are doing sharing and caring.

In circle time the girls will talk about how we care by sharing and talk about ways we can share. The girls will do role play using toys and show the kids how to share and put them into pairs and encourage them to share toys and blocks. Bernie and Mary Ann will give praise and encouragement for all sharing and will set an example by sharing things in front of the kids and giving each other thanks for doing so. The girls will also talk about caring for others and showing ways you care by hugs, sharing and and being kind.

Upstairs the ECCE room and preschool rooms are learning about hibernation.

In Circle time Laura, Lydia and Lisa will talk to the children about how hibernation is when some animals go to sleep during winter time and don’t wake up till its spring. The girls will read stories on how the squirrel and bear store up lots of food and then then go to sleep. The children will get to do role play using a tent as cave and get to act like hibernating bears! For arts and crafts they will get to colour hibernating pictures and make bears and squirrels.
