Hello everyone here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza.
In the baby room Suzanne and Laura are doing mini messers with the babies where the babies get to have lots of fun exploring their senses through paint, flour and water. Babies love investigating things with their hands so this week they will get an opportunity to do that with paint and other material. The girls will put on the aprons, put paper down on the mat and squirt paint onto it naming the colours as they do and encourage the children to feel and spread the paint. They will take off baby’s shoes and socks too so that they can feel it between their toes and feet. The girls will also give them paint brushes to use and the girls will paint their hands and feet so they can feel the texture of the brush. Other days the babies will get to play with water and flour too. Making a mess is the best fun!
In the toddler room Bernie and Mary Ann are doing healthy eating with the children. in circle time the girls will look at pictures of fruit and veg and ask the children to name them and describe them. The girls will talk about what fruit and veg they like and how they put them into their dinners and snacks. The girls will ask the children about their favourite snack and encourage the children to do role play using the kitchen and food set asking them questions about what they are having. The girls will also inform the children about how good vegetables and fruit are to make us grow big and strong. Colouring pages will be provided and praise and encouragement will be used during snack times and dinner to encourage eating healthy foods.
Upstairs in the preschool and ECCE rooms Rachel, Lisa and Lydia are doing spring with the children seeing as its fast approaching.
In circle time the girls will read about spring from our seasons book and ask the children questions on the pictures. They will chat about the daffodil coming out, buds growing on the trees and the weather getting a bit warmer. They will also talk about new baby animals that are born in spring and do lots of arts and crafts making daffodils and baby animals. Over the next few weeks the girls will set up a nature table and children can bring in things associated with spring.
Have a great week!
