Hello Everybody, here is what we are up to this week in Ardenza!
In the baby room it's time for the babies to learn their nursery rhymes so this week Suzanne and Geraldine are doing 'Hey diddle diddle'. In the cosy corner the girls will sing the rhyme to them and show them pictures from our nursery rhyme books. The girls will point out the pictures from the rhyme like the cat, moon, fiddle etc and repeat them to the babies. The girls will ask the babies to find the objects in the book and will repeat the rhyme. The babies will also get to scribble on some hey diddle diddle pictures.
In the toddler room Bernie and Shell are doing colours with the children. In circle time they will look through their colour books and ask the children to name the colours. They will do activities around the room like find the colour and they will play with the colour blocks. Bernie and shell will emphasis colours in the children's every day routine like snack time and outdoor play and they will sing colour songs like the rainbow song. The toddlers will also get to do some colouring using crayons.
Upstairs both the ECCE classes are doing music.
Mary Ann, Lisa and Sarah will discuss what music is and what they like about music in circle time. They will chat about the different musical instruments there are, the sounds they make and how you can make music by playing them. The children will sing songs using the preschool instruments and listen to different types of music. The girls will also play the children different rhythms of music from slow to fast and dance with the kids showing them how you move slow to some music and fast to with others. So there will be lots of jumping around and swaying and some disco fun!
